This was probably one of the interesting projects I’ve done so far. Not only did we work with folds, but also 3D images and transforming shapes in different ways. I found several parts of it fun to learn about. My favorite part being when we took the two banner shapes and arced them. It’s just so interesting to see all the options you have for finding the correct shape. It’s something I’ll definitely play around with in the future. The last steps were probably the most mind blowing to me. We designed a 2D image and placed it on a 3D shape without having to design the shape ourselves or importing it into a different program. And then there were the small things we did that were new such as wrapping text around an image or finding the correct shape by using the brush settings. All and all it was crazy how many new tips and strategies we were introduced to compared to the last practice assignment.

For this performance we were asked to create a game or product and design a box for it. The box must include the company name, copyright information, ratings and warnings. I chose to make a 3DS video game based off of my characters Alyth, and her demon form. So I created an image of her. I went home and decided to create a time lapse of the front image. I thought it’d be an interesting add-on. I also added a game cartridge design. The most difficult part of the project for me was trying to understand the template I used for the box. Fortunately for me I found a labeled one. I also had trouble handling that pesky clipping mask on one of the back images. However then I found that selecting both the shape and the image worked perfectly. Another problem I struggled with was coming up with a plot for the game I tried not to do anything generic but it seemed to end up that way anyways.
